Marine Group Boat Works (Chula Vista) has recently been approved to be the first and only Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) in California dedicated to yachts!
This is BIG news for the South Bay economy —it allows foreign flagged yachts for sale to dock in Chula Vista & San Diego without owners having to pay hefty import duties and fees unless they secure a U.S. buyer. We all know when superyacht owners keep their vessels in San Diego, there’s millions of dollars in maintenance and simple provisioning to spend. Best thing for our local economy is to have them decorate our waterfront while spending their dollars right here
