The City Council took the first step toward adopting a plastics reduction ordinance at its Feb. 4 meeting, approving the first reading of the proposed regulations. The ordinance, which will return for final adoption on Feb. 18, aims to reduce single-use plastics. If adopted, the new rules will take effect 180 days later.
