The Young Entrepreneur Academy is an innovative program that provides High School Students with the tools and resources they need to start and run their own businesses. 

Class Schedule
From January 15th – June 4th, 2025, every Wednesday school is in session, from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM

South County EDC is a non-profit business organization that partners with California Manufacturing Technology Consulting (CMTC)  to offer support to the manufacturing companies in South San Diego County.  

Zero Cost Assistance program

The South County Economic Development Council is offering valuable assistance to local manufacturers by providing access to various resources at no cost. These resources include wage subsidies, workforce development programs, operational assistance, and more.

The South County EDC would like to introduce the new web portal and all of the features available to you and our community.  The development of this new product took several approaches focusing on enhancing and supporting our community, providing insight and visibility to all things South County, and to providing value for those invested in the SCEDC.  The new look and feel comes with a slew of tools and resources for businesses both here

During our January 12th Board of Director Meeting we heard from Executive Director Hasan Ikharta of SANDAG and team.  The presentation touched on the long-term strategies and focuses of the regional organization.  Outlining of the 5 Big Moves allowed all involved to see and better understand our regional transportation vision. SANDAG introduced a transformative vision for transportation in San Diego County that completely reimagines how people and goods could move throughout the region in the 21st century.



After a sluggish start to San Diego County’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the region has received 173,000 doses over the past few days, coinciding with the launch of a mass inoculation site in Chula Vista on Thursday. Sharp HealthCare will run the site, located in a former Sears department store, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. County Supervisor Nora Vargas said that 1,800 people made appointments Thursday, and a Sharp spokesperson added



California Relief Grant Program

Governor Newsome announced the creation of a $500 million California Relief Grant Program administered by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development for small businesses that have been impacted by COVID and the health and safety restrictions. Funds would be awarded to selected intermediaries with established networks of Community Development Financial Institutions to distribute relief through grants of up to $25,000 to underserved micro
