During our January 12th Board of Director Meeting we heard from Executive Director Hasan Ikharta of SANDAG and team. The presentation touched on the long-term strategies and focuses of the regional organization. Outlining of the 5 Big Moves allowed all involved to see and better understand our regional transportation vision. SANDAG introduced a transformative vision for transportation in San Diego County that completely reimagines how people and goods could move throughout the region in the 21st century.

After a sluggish start to San Diego County’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the region has received 173,000 doses over the past few days, coinciding with the launch of a mass inoculation site in Chula Vista on Thursday. Sharp HealthCare will run the site, located in a former Sears department store, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Governor Newsome announced the creation of a $500 million California Relief Grant Program administered by the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA) at the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development for small businesses that have been impacted by COVID and the health and safety restrictions.
