Community Leadership program

The South County Leadership Program empowers residents, business owners, and community-minded individuals with a deeper understanding of how our region works—and how they can help shape its future.

Through direct engagement with local leaders, decision makers, and innovators, participants gain insight into the forces driving growth, progress, and community well-being. The program cultivates informed, motivated leaders who contribute to meaningful dialogue, inspire involvement, and strengthen the communities of South County.

What to expect

Participants in the South County Leadership Program will take part in a dynamic, month-to-month journey of engagement, learning, and skill-building rooted in the issues, opportunities, and forces shaping our region. Each session brings the cohort together for a full day of exploration around a key community topic—supported by hands-on experiences, conversations with local experts, and visits to essential businesses, infrastructure sites, and iconic locations.

Through these immersive days, participants gain insight into how South County functions, the Industries that drive it, and the people who help it thrive.

Throughout the program, participants will also cultivate their own leadership strengths, build relationships with fellow civically minded individuals, and discover meaningful pathways to community involvement that align with their personal interests and skills.

By connecting emerging leaders with current decision makers, innovators, and dedicated public servants, the program fosters a collaborative environment where new voices feel motivated and equipped to engage.

The ultimate goal is to build a strong bench of future leaders—prepared to serve on boards and commissions, contribute to constructive dialogue, and help shape the future of South County with confidence and purpose.
