On July 11th, the South County Economic Development Council (SCEDC) proudly gathered to commemorate the inauguration of their board for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The occasion marked a moment of gratitude for the outgoing board chair, Patricia Alvarez, whose tireless efforts significantly advanced the mission of the SCEDC. The event, held during the annual meeting, saw an outpouring of appreciation from various government officials at the federal, state, county, and local levels, who presented proclamations honoring Alvarez’s accomplishments.
The SCEDC extends its sincere appreciation to Chula Vista Mayor John McCann (Pictured Above) for joining the ceremony and assisting in the induction of the newly appointed Chair of the Board, Debbie Espe (Retina World Congress). The organization also welcomed new members to the executive committee, including Scott Andrews (Neighborhood National Bank), David Wick (SD Commercial), and Rich Yumul (SageTree), in addition to the incoming board member Laura Munoz-Humphreys (South Bay Family YMCA). With this dynamic team in place, the SCEDC is poised to continue driving economic development and fostering prosperity throughout South County.
