On June 15 South County EDC  joined a coalition of binational organizations in signing a Memorandum of Understanding focused on advancing the San Diego and Tijuana region. The effort will focus on generating and promoting economic and business opportunities on both sides of the international border, strengthening the economy, quality of life, and education and tourism as a means of attracting foreign direct investment to the region. Our organizations have long been partners in identifying resources and opportunities and this agreement further cements our unified efforts.

Partners involved in promoting our region in a collaborative effort include:

  • The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce
  • The Tijuana Economic and Industrial Development AC
  • The Smart Border Coalition
  • The San Diego Economic Development Corporation
  • The South County Economic Development Council
  • The San Diego Tourism Authority
  • The Tijuana Development Council AC
  • The Tijuana Tourism and Conventions Bureau
  • The Business Coordinating Council of Tijuana

Together our organizations will work to:

  • Promote the binational region as the main destination of foreign investment
  • Strengthen the binational region as a hub for innovation
  • Support shared communication and collective programming
  • Resolve investment restrictions and advance public policies that boost our global
    competitiveness
  • Collaborate on efforts that are considered relevant to the region as a whole
