With the end of 2021 upon us I wanted to share a note of thanks to all who have assisted in the work of the South County EDC this year. To our amazing board, committed members, outstanding community and civic partners, and our resolute staff we could not have done the work of helping position South County as the most desirable place to live, work, and dream.
As with the past 21 months, 2021 was not without challenge, but the communities which make South County so amazing, continued to respond in a truly resilient manner. Together with our partners more than 3,000 businesses received direct operational support. Coalitions have been built to assist in attracting the support and funds needed to enhance and grow our ever-diversifying workforce.
Much of the recent past has been focused on retaining and sustaining. Heading into 2022 the South County is positioned to thrive and expand in leaps and bounds. Communities and industry have laid the groundwork for levels of investment and growth focused on enhancing our binational economy and providing opportunities for all right here in South County.
I look forward to the new year and the many exciting projects, programs, and opportunities on the horizon. I know together we will continue to blaze a path forward for our entire region. I wish you and your families an incredibly happy and healthy holiday season and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
